Dr. J.C. VIJ

Gastroenterology & Hepatology

Dr JC Vij did his MBBS in year 1970 and MD (Medicine) in 1975 from Medical College Rohtak and his DM (Gastroenterology) in 1978 from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. After Post doctoral qualification he joined as faculty of GB Pant hospital, Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi where he rose to become professor in gastroenterology. After taking voluntary retirement he worked as Senior Consultant in gastroenterology in reputed several hospitals viz Apollo Hospital, Holy Family Hospital, Pushpawati Singhania Research Institute & Max Hospital, New Delhi. Currently Dr Vij is holding the post of Director & Head of Centre for Digestive and Liver Diseases in Dr B L Kapur Memorial Hospital, Super Speciality, Pusa Road, New Delhi.

He has an experience of over 35 years in the field of gastroenterology and hepatology. He has a record of 14 years of postgraduate teaching in speciality of gastroenterology and 17 years of undergraduate teaching. He is a recognized postgraduate examiner in gastroenterology by Delhi University and DNB Board.

Dr JC Vij has attended several International workshops on therapeutic endoscopy. He has performed several hundreds of complicated and difficult endoscopic procedures with high success rate which include therapeutic ERCP procedures viz papillotomy, mechanical lithotripsy, biliary stenting, pancreatic stenting, drainage of pseudopancreatic cyst besides UGI and colonoscopic procedures. He has published above 60 researches papers in National and International journals. He was a member of editorial board of Indian Journal of Tuberculosis. He received R C Garg Memorial award for best paper entitled "A clinicopathological study of abdominal tuberculosis" published in Indian Journal of Tuberculosis in 1992.

He is a Life member of Indian Society of Gastroenterology, Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy of India and International member of American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
